Sydney Coach Company Out of Business

Sydney Tourism Group part of the Hawkesford Group that operates Sydney Luxury Coaches (formally Hawkesford's) has gone out of business.
As a result of the appointment of Voluntary Administrators, Sydney Tourism Group is bankrupt.

We have it on good authority that on Friday, 2nd September 2011 finance creditors, a fleet of tow trucks and legal staff arrived at Sydney Luxury Coaches and towed away the fleet & padlocked the gates.
Transport businesses have commented to us that they have received an influx of calls of the drivers looking for work.

Rumours that the business was going downhill fast spread like wildfire when they changed their business name from Hawkesford's Group to Sydney Luxury Coaches with massive debts but not even the new name could save them.

Some operators that have emailed us have expressed sheer dismay that that they could continue to operate under the new name given that under NSW Transport & Infrastructure law, a company must be financially viable to continue to operate.
One coach company that told us that this is in fact the third time they have changed their name and cannot believe Transport NSW could let them to continue operating.

There is no news on the company's website and phones were not being answered.

We'll keep you updated if anything developes.
Keep an eye out on those auction sites for minibuses & coaches for sale.

Sad, sad news.
I have seen Jim at local pubs drinking and he doesn't look like a man that's just lost his company.

Guess that the attention and stress would be enough to drive any-one to drink ( did you buy the guy a drink?) supposing that you where in the pub drinking coke
